Cindy Bohlen
Board President

Cindy, Chief Mindfulness Officer at Riverwater Partners, leads the firm’s sustainability practice and does primary research for the health care and technology sectors. Cindy has prior research experience at Robert W. Baird and M&I Investment Management. She added a sustainability lens to her investment process while working for another private firm and for a local foundation. Cindy earned a B.B.A. in Finance and a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. In addition, she is a CFA® charterholder.

John Celichowski

Fr. John is the Director of the North American Pacific Capuchin Conference (NAPCC) Novitiate in Santa Ynez, California, which serves eight provinces in the USA, Canada, and Australia. He is also the Secretary for Religious Affairs for the Capuchin Province of St. Joseph, based in Detroit, and serves on several provincial commissions. He has served on various church and community-related boards and commissions, and holds several degrees: B.A. (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 1984); M.Div. (Catholic Theological Union, 1993); and J.D. (Georgetown University Law Center, 2000). He is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar. His writings have appeared in various church and legal publications, including Worship, The Cord, St. Anthony Messenger, American Indian Law Review, Human Development, the Encyclopedia of American Civil Liberties, and The Catholic Lawyer.

Ann Roberts

Ann joined Dana Investment Advisors in 2015 as an ESG analyst, having performed ESG research for the company on a project basis since 2005.

Caroline Boden
Board Member

Caroline Boden is a director of shareholder advocacy with Mercy Investment Services, covering portfolio issues such as nutrition, the reduction of food and plastic waste, human trafficking, and safer chemical management. Prior to joining Mercy Investment Services in 2016, Caroline was a research associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. Her responsibilities included researching and producing reports and policy memos on the geopolitics of the Arctic, as well as security and defense issues in Northern Europe. Caroline holds a bachelor of arts degree in French and international studies from Illinois Wesleyan University and a master of science in European politics from the University of Glasgow.

Sr. Pegge Boehm, P.B.V.M.

Pegge-Boehm

Sr. Pegge, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, worked for 11 years with the First Wisconsin Corporation and active in grassroots politics and her Parish, before volunteering to be a lay missionary in Guerrero, Mexico for the Conventual Franciscan Priests of St. Josaphat Basilica, Milwaukee. Witnessing the compassion and joyful service of the Presentation Sisters to the poorest of the poor at that Mexican mission, she entered the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Aberdeen, SD in 1985. For the past 25 years, she has ministered in Rural Ministry, Parish Ministry and in Hispanic Ministry throughout northeastern South Dakota. She currently serves as councillor for her community.

Brigid Clingman

Sr. Mary Brigid Clingman, OP, MSW, Promoter of Justice for the Dominican Sisters-Grand Rapids. She is an alumna of Aquinas College, the Aquinas Institute of Religious Studies, and Western Michigan Social Work.  Professionally, she has ministered in child welfare, community corrections/pretrial advocacy, religious education, pastoral associate, congregational leadership and currently as Promoter of Justice with priority of issues of climate justice, economic justice, human trafficking, immigration and peace/security for all life.

Tom Content

Tom Content is the Executive Director of the Citizens Utility Board of Wisconsin, the nation’s first CUB formed in 1979 as a non-profit, nonpartisan consumer advocate for the residential and small business utility customers of Wisconsin. Tom leads a three-person staff that advocates for fair and affordable utility rates and reliable and safe utility service. Tom joined the Citizens Utility Board in 2017 after working for 30 years as a journalist. He became interested in energy and what it costs households while sitting in the back seat, waiting for what seemed like forever, during the gas lines of the ’70s. After graduating from Boston University’s College of Communication Tom worked at newspapers in suburban Boston and suburban Philadelphia before moving to Wisconsin. He reported on utilities and worked as business editor at the Green Bay-Press Gazette in the 1990s and then moved to Milwaukee, where he covered energy, utilities and sustainable business for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. His reporting on energy and climate change won the National Press Club’s Stokes Award for Energy Writing in 2007. Tom lives with his wife and daughters in Glendale, Milwaukee County.

With The Fitzpatrick Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, Edward began his career at the Chicago Board Options Exchange and joined his father as Financial Advisor in 2000. He has written investment articles, including Best Practices for Investment Committees and Hot Topic: International Investing. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and a graduate of Villanova University.

Ellette Gibson

Ellette Gibson

Ellette is the Chief Financial Officer for the Ursuline Sisters in their United States Central Province. She has worked in the Finance Office for the Ursuline Sisters since 2005, first as an accountant and for the past 6 years as their CFO. In the past 13 years she has worked with the sisters through the development of several partnerships resulting in a positive financial impact for the Province. She earned her BSBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nebraska.

Sr. Barbara Jennings, C.S.J.
Board Member

Sr. Barbara joined her community in 1967 after receiving a BA (English). She taught high school in Waco, TX and Kansas City, MO, and religious studies at Avila University and Fontbonne University MBA programs. Barbara has led MCRI since 2007 and is on ICCR’s Food & Water and Human Rights leadership teams. MCRI hosted the ICCR Summer Conference in 2011. Barbara has served on the ICCR Board and currently serves on the Boards of Fontbonne University and Carondelet Community Betterment Federation.

Sr. Carmen Schnyder, C.P.P.S.

Sr. Carmen joined her community in 1960 and served in their leadership from 2004-2010. After receiving a BA (History), Masters (Elementary School Leadership), and an MBA, she served as a teacher, principal, and in school administration. Carmen developed the Finance Office for St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Chicago, IL and has been the Treasurer and on the Investment Committee of her community since 2004. She’s also been active in socially responsible investing since 2004.

Christopher Cox
Executive Director

Executive director since January of 2023, Chris served as associate director and formerly led the Human Thread Campaign, a program of Seventh Generation Interfaith and Catholic effort to raise awareness, direct action, and build solidarity with garment workers. Previously, he served in multicultural and low income communities in the U.S. and Latin America.

Natalie Wasek
Associate Director

Natalie joined SGI in August of 2019 after a year of volunteer service with Franciscan Volunteers: No Risk, No Gain and the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia which was framed around ecological and social justice. She found a passion in working towards systemic change and is excited by the opportunity to continue to work and grow in this field.

Natalie graduated magna cum laude from St. Bonaventure University with a B.B.A. in accounting, and minors in international business and theology.

Christina brings more than 18 years of corporate experience with establishing and managing legal processes, corporate social responsibility policies and guidelines and compliance functions for multinational corporations in highly regulated international government and commercial markets. For the past 8 years she has worked in the non-profit, public and private equity sectors.
