The Climate is in Crisis: What Can Investors Do?

On October 15, 2024 Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment (SGI-CRI) hosted its annual conference at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Milwaukee, WI.

The 2024 theme was The Climate is in Crisis: What Can Investors Do? The climate crisis has an impact on every aspect of our work and lives. Those most vulnerable are impacted disproportionately by the crisis. Businesses are being asked to disclose more emissions information. And investors are figuring out how to hold themselves and their investments accountable.

This event provided an overview of the climate crisis, the burden on people and communities, and how investors can play a role in addressing the impacts. Members and guests heard from impacted stakeholders and grassroots organizations followed by a panel discussion on how investors can learn from these impacts, include them in corporate engagements, and respond meaningfully to this crisis.

The conference started at with a Keynote from Christina Herman from the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR). A panel of impacted stakeholders followed:

A panel of experts and investors will follow to discuss how investors and others are responding to the climate crisis and its impacts. 

As well, SGI presented its Fr. Mike Crosby Award to Sr. Gwen Farry, B.V.M.
