Key collaborative partners

Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment (SGI) collaborates with other concerned investors and NGOs to enhance our shareholder advocacy for systemic change. SGI was the key convener of the National Catholic Coalition for Responsible Investment and, in 1973, the first coalition to join the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility (ICCR). Other regional coalition members of ICCR, with whom SGI works in tandem, are Pennsylvania Area CRI, Region VI CRI, Northwest Coalition for Responsible Investment, California CRI, and Socially Responsible Investment Coalition. SGI has also worked with Ceres to promote social and environmental sustainability in corporations since its inception in 1989. Other groups with whom we work closely include CDP, As You Sow, Midwest Investors Diversity Initiative, and the Farm Labor Practices Group.

Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility
ICCR is a coalition of faith and values-driven organizations who view the management of their investments as a powerful catalyst for social change. Founded in 1972, its membership comprises nearly 300 organizations including faith-based institutions, socially responsible asset management companies, unions, pension funds and colleges and universities that collectively represent over $400 billion in invested capital. Members of SGI have access to ICCR members only website, webinars, and conference calls as well as support from its staff. The participation and leadership of other ICCR members in corporate dialogues is instrumental to SGI’s shareholder advocacy.

Ceres
Ceres is a non-profit organization advocating for sustainability leadership. It mobilizes investors, companies and public interest groups to accelerate and expand the adoption of sustainable business practices and solutions to build a healthy global economy. SGI is an active member of the Ceres’ Investor Network on Climate Risk (INCR), a network of more than 120 institutional investors representing more than $15 trillion in assets committed to addressing climate change and other key sustainability risks, while building low-carbon investment opportunities. Ceres’ expertise in climate change, supply chains, and sustainable food systems has been crucial to SGI’s corporate engagements.

Investor Alliance for Human Rights
An ICCR-led initiative, the Alliance coordinates investor action on priority human rights and business issues — engaging corporations, state actors, and international organizations to ensure greater corporate respect for human rights.
